Remote Lands is searching for a Content Manager. As Content Manager, your primary responsibilities would be acting as Editor-in-Chief of our soon-to-be-launched company magazine (née company blog) as well as managing and editing content on our very copy and image-heavy website (also scheduled for relaunch in June). Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, excited by the opportunity to truly “own” a project from conception to execution.
The selected candidate would have a close working relationship with our co-founder (and COO) as well as our Global Marketing Director, with the independence to innovate, create, and network. We’re interested in individuals that bring fresh perspectives along with professional expertise. Experience in online publishing environments is expected, with particular attention to the primacy of publishing for SEO value and driving clicks. However, as our content is not ad-driven, our focus is on creating loyal readership, attracted to high quality articles, ranging from undeniably compelling entertainment to thoughtful journalistic pieces.
In addition to experience in the publishing world, writing ability, and general creativity, we’re seeking individuals with organizational and management skills who will be able to assign and manage third-party content for both the magazine and our website. However, this position is not all delegation. The Content Manager will also apply edits and updates to the website directly, via our proprietary CMS. If copy is needed in short order for a marketing initiative, new website section, or press release, the Content Manager will need to step in and reliably produce high-quality copy that gets to the heart of our brand.
Ultimately, this position is an opportunity to take a first-hand, holistic approach to the way copy is utilized in the 21st century. It’s a platform to take the skills of writer and editor and integrate them with contemporary marketing practices—above all, crafting content that is greater than the sum of its parts.Required Documents:
