Amantaka
Amantaka is a new hotel set south of Phousi Mountain and close to the banks of the Mekong River and the Luang Prabang Night Market. The resort, an old French colonial building, is surrounded by a spacious courtyard, and has 24 suites – eight deluxe suites, four pool suites, eight Khan suites, two Mekong suites and two Amantaka suites, all with spacious interior and exterior living areas. Facilities include a spa, a fitness center, a library and a boutique art gallery. Amantaka is little more than a ten- minute drive from Luang Prabang International Airport (LPQ).

La Résidence Phou Vao
La Résidence Phou Vao is set amid lush gardens on the small hill of Phou, with views overlooking Mount Phou Si, Luang Prabang’s sacred mountain. Thirty-two rooms and two suites are furnished in traditional Lao style and have views of the thick forest canopy or the grounds blooming with bougainvillea, palms and frangipani. The hotel’s facilities include an infinity-edge pool with views over the palm-filled valley, a business center and cooking classes. There is no fitness center but bikes are available for hire. The spa at the hotel offers a variety of beauty and massage treatments all based on traditional Lao herbal remedies. Maison Souvannaphoum
The charm of old world Luang Prabang comes to life at the elegant Maison Souvannaphoum, the former residence of Prince Souvannaphoum. Located just 10 minutes from Luang Prabang International Airport and short walk from the Mekong, this boutique property has 24 rooms and three suites. Guests can stay either in La Residence, the former bedrooms of the Prince, Queen and Princess, which have been converted into three colonial-style suites (the Maison, Laos and Champa Rooms) and one twin guest room, or in the Garden Wing’s garden and verandah rooms, which are equipped with wi-fi connection and decorated with a modernist touch. For dining there is the L’Elephant Blanc, which serves Laotian, Indochinese and French dishes. Facilities at the hotel include a lap pool and business center, however there is no fitness center.
