Shangri-La Boracay Resort & Spa
Due to open first quarter 2009, Shangri-La's Boracay Resort & Spa will be the first world-class resort in on the Philippines' best beach. Its secluded location in the north of Boracay Island faces on 1,150 feet of white-sand beach, has grounds are covered in tropical forest threaded with walking trails, and is home to a number of rare species. There will be 219 spacious guest rooms and villas, all finished with traditional Filipino decor and local materials. Each room connects to a balcony with panoramic beach views. Villas include private lap pool, outdoor shower, a pergola for outdoor dining, and a day bed for relaxation or massage. Restaurants will include Italian cuisine at Rima, located on a hilltop with views of the ocean and forest; and seafood at Sirena, set on a clifftop overlooking the water. The resort will also have the latest edition of Shangri-La's acclaimed CHI Spa. Built on a rocky peninsula, the 61,000-square-foot spa village will be a soothing retreat within the resort. A spa pool will be set within the landscaped garden. Recreational facilities such as outdoor tennis courts, a free-form swimming pool, health club and marine centre with diving facilities will also be available. Boracay is a 30-minute boat-and-car trip from Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (MPH) in Caticlan.
