Why We Love This Hotel :

Location: This 1931 hotel is one of New Delhi's most recognizable buildings, located in   centrally located on Janpath, the old Queensway. Shopping is steps away and  it's just a 30-minute drive from the airport.

History: Aside from art, the Imperial has a rich cultural heritage. The hotel's bar Patiala Peg is where Nehru, Gandhi, Lord Mountbatten and Mohammad Ali Jinnah met to discuss the partition of India.

Service: The Imperial is widely considered one of the best hotels in Asia, with a string of accolades to its name.

The Imperial offers a host of business and health facilities catering for both executives and leisure travelers. Fitness and wellness are covered by the property's award-winning spa, and there are three different banquet rooms for functions or meetings, not to mention the property's meticulously kept lawns.



Health & Racquet Club

The fitness club was launched in 2010 and offers guests the use of Technogym equipment, bikes, treadmills, and cross-training machines, plus Pilates Reformer classes. There's a squash court and yoga and meditation sessions and a personal trainer to assist where needed.

Imperial Spa

The Imperial Spa is an award-winning establishment focusing on holistic wellness. Yoga, massage, meditation and beauty therapies are offered, with the option of the Moghal Suite for couples and the Kerala Suite for all Ayurvedic treatments. The menu includes Thai, Swedish and Shiatsu massage, rejuvenating rituals and diamond DNA facials, plus "retreats" that offer full spa journeys tailored to different needs. The spa uses Sufi products, its own signature brand.

Pool

Positioned amid royal palms in a shaded area of the hotel, the pool refreshes and invigorates. A pool bar is on hand to provide waterside drinks and snacks.

The Imperial Salon

All hair and beauty needs are addressed in-house, with holistic health solutions for hair and nails. The salon offers treatments for men, manicure, pedicure and hair styling for women and a special cosmetics and bridal room.

 

Truly catering for a cosmopolitan crowd, the Imperial hosts nine difference F&B outlets. There are award-winning restaurants creating the best of Southeast Asian and Indian cuisine as well as Italian, with a French patisserie to complete the selection. Dining venues span indoor and outdoor spaces.



1911 Bar and Restaurant

This classic colonial bar provides a nostalgic place for a pre-dinner drink, with walls decorated with historic pictures and the uniforms of various British battalions. The bar offers more than 500 different choices of drink, while the dining room serves a buffet lunch with a melting pot of cultural influences.

Daniell's Tavern

A showcase kitchen provides hours of entertainment in this pan-Indian restaurant. Inspired by the paintings of uncle and nephew team Thomas and William Daniell as they travelled India in 1786, the menu traverses old world specialties from across the country. The "live" kitchen is complemented by a live band.

La Baguette

Guests can satisfy their sweet tooth at this patisserie, offering a selection of French delicacies from 10am to 10pm. European classics such as Black Forest cake are available alongside west Asian desserts, chocolates and homemade ice cream.

Nostalgia

Beautiful art deco windows and vintage photographs recall a golden era, where couples can enjoy dinner to live piano or jazz. European meals are served with a selection of old and new world wines.

Patiala Peg

This bar was made famous for hosting a meeting between Nehru, Gandhi, Lord Mountbatten and Mohammad Ali Jinnah. With rich mahogany interiors and a larger than usual "peg" measure (75ml as opposed to 60ml), have made it one of the most popular bars in Dehli.

San Gimignano

Named after a hilltop town in Tuscany, San Gimignano serves up hearty Italian cuisine using local and imported ingredients. Italian wines and grappa are available as is authentic San Gimignano wine – Vernaccia de San Gimignano. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

The Atrium

This bright, sophisticated space serves morning and afternoon tea and is open until 11.30pm for those wishing to wind down with evening drinks. A water feature and marble floor create an old world ambience.

The Spice Route

Southeast Asian cuisine is showcased here in this fantastically decorated dining room. Vivid murals painted with vegetable and flower dyes reflect the cultures of Spice Route countries – Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Myanmar – while the menu by chef Veena Arora features the region's most famous dishes, Kerala-style prawns, tom yum goong and Thai green curry among them. The courtyard also features examples of Isaan art from northern Thailand.
