Governor's Residence

Why We Love This Hotel :

Four restaurants are provided for guests’ culinary enjoyment at the Governor’s Residence. The Mandalay Restaurant features the tantalising, exotic flavours of local cuisine, while the Burmese Curry Table has a stronger focus on the fragrant local curries, which are served buffet-style.The Mindon Lounge and the Kipling Bar are wonderfully-relaxing spots to while away an evening over imported drinks.



Burmese Curry Table

Burmese Curry Table serves aromatic local curries, with vegetables and rice presented in a buffet style in traditional charcoal burning stoves. Expect to see exotic flavored curries such as duck and picked tea leaf curry as well as fresh and spicy salads such as tea leaf, ginger, tomato, potato and vermicelli and banana flower salad. Wash your mouthwatering meal down with Burmese Dagon beer or green tea.

Kipling Bar

Kipling Bar, named after the famous author whose words immortalized Burma in classic literature, offers a wide drinks menu including high-quality teas and coffee in an elegant atmosphere.

Mandalay Restaurant

The Mandalay Restaurant serves exotic local cuisine and European dishes in an alfresco or inside setting, surrounded by the tropical plants of the hotel garden and lotus pond. Items on the menu include Australian steak with mushroom sauce, fresh Bay of Bengal crab on pumpkin puree and curried aioli, and tiramisu.

Mindon Lounge

In the evenings Mindon Lounge is the perfect venue to enjoy a cocktail and watch a traditional Burmese dance performance in high season. The open-air bar offers light refreshments and a range of spirits wines and beers in a shaded garden area.
