Amankora Punakha

Why We Love This Hotel :

Exclusivity: The hotel has just eight suites making the hotel intimate, welcoming and private.

History: The hotel is housed in a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse built as a home by the Royal Bhutanese Queen to oversee the local farmland.

Spa: The resort's indulgent spa looks over rice fields and comprises a meditation room, private treatment rooms and a steam room and changing area.

Amankora Punakha features a cozy library and lounge, a meditation room and a spa.

Library

The library and living room space is located in the first floor and contains a selection of daily newspapers, magazines and books on Bhutanese culture and art.

Spa

The Aman spa provides a sanctuary space for relaxation and recuperation. Guests may take advantage of the steam rooms whilst deciding on a treatment to be enjoyed in the private treatment rooms. The spa has a separate room for yoga and meditation.

Amankora Punakha’s dining room serves Bhutanese and international cuisine. The resort also has a stunning courtyard for alfresco dining and a tea pavilion. The chefs incorporate as much local produce as possible to their creative dishes.

Dining Room

The main dining room is located in the farm house building. Guests may choose from local or international dishes, paired with a decent wine and beverage selection. The restaurant is set up in a communal dining style with long wooden tables and traditional Bhutanese table decorations.

Tea Pavilion

The Tea Pavilion is located next to the courtyard and resides in the old kitchen of the summer palace. The tea room serves fresh local and imported teas and coffees, with home-made sweet cakes and savory snacks.
