We are intrepid travelers who love to get off the beaten track to explore. Remote Lands did a great job of arranging our trip to some of the less trodden parts of Indonesia.

Tugu Lombok

Why We Love This Hotel :

Location: Tugu Lombok is located on the secluded northwest coast of the island on a long stretch of pristine white sand.

History: Rural life unfolds around this property largely untouched by modernity, while interior décor evokes ancient local mythology.

Service: Guests here enjoy 24-hour room service and a welcome neck and foot massage.

Located right on the beach, this property offers the best of seaside vacationing. White sands and clear blue waters beckon, while the verdant hills surrounds of Mount Rinjani promote peaceful activities such as yoga and meditation.

The long, clean Sire Beach offers the ideal environment for a lazy beach holiday. Indonesian "bales", loungers and parasols are available on the beach.

Cooking Classes

Guests can immerse themselves in Lombok’s cuisine. The cooking class begins with a trip to the local markets, after which they're taught how to make authentic local dishes. Lunch or dinner is enjoyed traditional-style with dishes heated on terracotta stoves and meals eaten by the light of oil lamps.

A large freshwater pool offers guests amazing coastal and garden views. Towels, poolside service and sun loungers provided.

With views of Mount Rinjani in the background, the Hening Swarga spa borders on mystical. Healing and rejuvenating treatments are offered in this open-air room, there's a Jacuzzi and VIP couples treatment beds. Decorated in traditional Indonesian style, it includes 100-year-old temple reliefs.

Yoga and Meditation

Guests can retreat to the rooftop of the spa and enjoy tranquil area views during their yoga session. This calm, quiet spot is also perfectly conducive to meditation and relaxation.
Guests can choose from a range of different cuisines and dining areas, with local and international foods on offer. Both indoor and outdoor dining is provided and private dining catered for in guest rooms, gardens and on rooftops. A private beach barbecue can alsobe organized.

Guests can enjoy authentic Indonesian cuisine, fusion dishes and international favourites in this breathtaking setting. Located beneath a 15-meter-tall thatched roof abutting the sea, guests can enjoy sea views while the restaurant's namesake – a carved rooster – decorates the apex of this open-air venue.

Hening Swarga

This open-air venue is named after the Hening Swarga temple, cooled by breezes coming off the Indian Ocean and infused with wafts of incense. Dinner guests can enjoy a superlatively romantic experience under the stars.
