Alila Jabal Akhdar Resort

Why We Love This Hotel :

Location: With Oman's breathtaking Al Hajar mountains as a platform, hotel locations don't get much more spectacular than this, overlooking a rocky gorge that drops thousands of feet to the ground below.

History: Ranked as one of 2014's most highly anticipated hotel openings by CNN, this is the first of Alila's collection of luxury boutique resorts to open in the Middle East.

Service: With five-stars to its name, expect the service here to be of a premium standard, from the moment you’re greeted at reception with a friendly smile right down to when it’s time to depart.

The standout facility here has got to be the resort's iconic infinity pool, which provides unbelievable views across Oman's rugged mountain landscape. Other leisure facilities include a luxurious spa, gym and business center.

Business Room

Those looking to rent out a space for a meeting, or just catch up on their emails in a quiet environment can take full advantage of the resort's onsite business room, which provides desk and seating space, along with free high-speed WiFi access.

The resort's private gym can be found near the swimming pool. Fully air conditioned, this airy space provides enough cardio, fitness machines and free weights for a rejuvenating workout amidst the mountains.

Spa Alila

The resort's signature spa provides seven luxurious treatment rooms, including one set aside for couples. The well-trained staff offer a range of treatments and massage option, using products specifically sourced from Bali.

Alila Jabal Akhdar resort has two pools, but the most impressive has to be the outside heated version, which overlooks the mountains from a gorgeous freeform infinity edge. Nearby, the small indoor option has impressive floor-to-ceiling windows allowing the light to flood inside during the day.

The short but sweet list of dining options at Alila Jabal Akhdar provides guests with exciting menus of international and traditional flavors, using only the freshest, locally-sourced produce from around Oman and the Middle East to create a truly dining authentic experience

Rose Lounge

This sophisticated little space is the place to come for some lighter bites and refreshments, and again takes full advantage of the memorable mountain views. The excellent range of cocktails here means that this is the perfect spot for a sundowner as the sun sets below the rocky horizon.

Juniper Restaurant

Named after the Juniper trees that are abundant in Oman, the resort's signature restaurant provides international and local flavors throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner - all set against the breathtaking mountain backdrop of Al Hajar.
