The flow of the trip was ideal; each city had an experience which made us love it more than the one before. Every guide was wonderful in his own right. They each had a special "personal" experience to tell about their country and a quality about themselves which enhanced the local experience.
It was a pleasure to spend the week with our Vietnam guide. He was the essence of the young generation which looks forward to modernization and which admires and even emulates western culture. Our Cambodian guide marveled us with his personal story of survival from the Khmer Rouge. Later he won us over with his unexpected photography skills, which were priceless, and the ability to make our touring experience seem as though we had Siem Reap to ourselves. Finally, there could not have been a more appropriate guide in Laos than ours, a man who continues to live his life with the values he learned during his years as a monk.
Perhaps there are many things that one could have planned or booked on their own or through the hotel, however it was the fine-tuned details and the flexibility of Remote Lands that made the trip flawless.
There is no doubt in any of our minds that we will choose to travel again with Remote Lands while in Asia.
