Andaman And Nicobar Islands

Located to the east of India, the Andaman and Nicobar islands float remotely in the Bay of Bengal. Of nearly 600 islands, only nine are available for foreign travelers to visit, as aboriginal tribes still live amongst the islands. Many tribes remain un-contacted or resist contact with the outside world, the most well known being North Sentinel Island which is considered a sovereign area under Indian protection. The islands have a primarily tropical environment with rainforests as well as deciduous and evergreen forests, mangroves, and grasslands that are rich with a diversity of wildlife.  Visitors will fly into Port Blair, an island town with historical attractions and British-colonial heritage, and gateway to the other pristine islands. The main attraction is the beaches and scuba diving, especially on Havelock Island and Neil Island, which harbor clear water lagoons, white sandy beaches, and coral reefs.
