Luxury Travel Sales Coordinator (New York Office)

Remote Lands Inc. is seeking a detail oriented, sales driven individual with strong financial analytical skills for this creative, multi-tasking position involving the following:

Day to Day

  • Financial analysis to ensure trips close with the maximum revenue achieved for the company
  • Supporting the sales team by preparing personalized estimates and quotes for clients and travel agents
  • Creating and managing highly detailed spreadsheets for trip coordination which are to be shared with our operations team
  • Creating pricing estimates utilizing in house software
  • Designing, costing and creating new itineraries and related materials
  • Liaising constantly with the sales and operations team to ensure all numbers and quotes are accurate
  • Researching pricing of hotels and flights compared to rates found online
  • Accurate and timely invoice preparation
  • Maintain and update internal databases
  • Research related to trips and special interests (culture, food, family activities, art, architecture, gardens, historic attractions, etc.)
  • Assisting with administrative projects and activities
  • Other creative and design projects and sales activities
  • Attending travel industry events and occasionally travelling to Asia as a professional representative of Remote Lands

Additional Opportunities

  • Communicating directly with clients either over the phone or via email
  • Listening to the clients needs and creating a personalized framework from scratch, using your own personal knowledge and in house resources to develop the itinerary
  • Help with the promotion and selling of new destinations where you have strong product knowledge
  • Work without supervision and manage your own database of clients
  • Proactively follow up on any potential leads in order to maximize number of bookings closed

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail is key
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize a vast volume of financial and other information
  • Must be numbers oriented and enjoy problem solving and analysis
  • Ability to multi-task and switch focus quickly between tasks
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word & Excel and able to quickly adapt to Remote Lands pre-set formulas and templates
  • Adobe InDesign expertise is a plus
  • Previous international travel experience in Asia is an advantage
  • Knowledge of luxury hotels and the travel industry a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, optimistic and hardworking with can-do attitude
  • Excellent rapport-building skills and a track record of customer interaction
  • Confidence and proven leadership
  • A willingness to learn in a fast paced office environment
  • Team player, on a small tight-knit team where you play a significant role
  • Willingness to assist with a wide range of tasks including administrative jobs and whatever else is necessary in a small company.
  • Possess the desire to evolve with a company that continues to grow year on year
