This ultra-luxe 2020 Aman Jet Expeditions is a 16-day journey through Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos, a whirlwind of the rich traditions and exotic landscapes of Southeast Asia. Jet-setting from location to location, travelers will enjoy five-star luxury in the artfully-designed suites of six different Aman destinations. With helicopters over Siem Reap, isolated white-sand beaches, and private yacht excursions, this Aman Private Jet Expedition is a one-of-a-kind expedition through the heart of Southeast Asia’s most exclusive locales — from the jungles of Bali to the heritage of Luang Prabang.
Touch down in Bali for the beginning of your ultra-luxe journey through Southeast Asia, beginning with a private transfer to the Amandari in Ubud – the green, rain forest heart of Indonesia’s most famous island.
Waking in the jungles of Bali, cycle through the rice terraces outside Ubud – complete with a special blessing from a local Balinese priest – and explore the nature preserve known as the Sacred Monkey Forest, where travelers will discover Padangtegal Temple.
Journey into Indonesia’s culinary past in an authentic cooking class before visiting the Agung Rai Museum of Art and learning to make batiks with a local artisan. As the day comes to a close, enjoy cocktails and dinner at the ARMA Museum with Agung Rai, a famed art collector and promoter of Balinese culture.
Trade the jungle for the beach as you make the move from Amandari to Amankila. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to climb the 1,700 steps to Pura Lempuyang Luhur, the oldest Hindu temple on the island and the most Instagram-worthy spot on Bali. Settle down for cocktails and a welcome from a local monk.
Climb aboard a private yacht for verdant jungle backdrops and rice terraces under the shadow of the active volcano of Mount Agung, with numerous stops in the shallow, pristine waters to snorkel with Indonesia’s abundant underwater wildlife.
Spend the day exploring the surrounding area of Amankila. Surf, dive, kayak, or snorkel on the private black-sand beach or relax with this Aman destination’s world-renowned dining and spa experiences.
Board your private jet en route to Yogyakarta, trading Bali for Java at Amanjiwo. Before dinner with a special guest, travelers can explore the temple of Prambanan or participate in a semadhi meditation session.
Arise early for sunrise at the 9th century monument of Borobudur, the region’s most famous attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a break for breakfast, the day’s excitement continues with a tour of the rural village of Candirejo or a hike through the lush Javanese jungle to the Hindu temple of Selogriyo.
Today, the private jet departs for Siem Reap in Cambodia. Home to one of Earth’s most impressive man made wonders, travelers will begin their Khmer adventure at the Amansara with a welcome dinner and a special guest.
Guests will have the chance to experience the grandeur of Angkor Wat at daybreak on a private tour. Afterward, see this marvel of the world from a different vantage as you look down on Angkor Wat from a helicopter. Relax for the remainder of the day, with opportunities to visit the old market of Psar Chaa, enjoy a specially arranged fashion show at haute couture designer Eric Raisina’s atelier, and to attend the famed Cambodian Phare Circus after dinner.
Tour Ta Prohm Temple – home to several recent archaeological discoveries – and visit Ravynn Karet Coxen’s traditional Khmer dance school. After the day’s activities, enjoy a private dinner of gourmet Khmer cuisine on the grounds of Banteay Samre accompanied by a performance of Cambodian dance.
Leave the Khmer culture of Siem Reap for the beaches of Cam Ranh, Vietnam. After travelers recharge with a complimentary massage at the Amanoi resort spa, enjoy cocktails and dinner by the pool to round out the evening.
Explore the beautiful Vietnamese province of Ninh Thuan, with options including off-road cycling, a hike to a secluded temple cove tucked away in Nui Chua National Park, and a complimentary yoga or pilates class. Afterward, visit Vinh Hy Bay and a local fishing village before journeying to Goga Peak and Hanging Lake.
Depart on your private jet for the final destination on this Aman Private Jet Expedition, the Amantaka in Luang Prabang. Starting off your Laos journey, drive to MandaLao for a thrilling visit with domesticated elephants, an ethical experience with the largest land mammal in Asia. After, tour the Royal Palace Museum or Wat Phonphao Temple.
On the penultimate day of this expedition, guests will rise early to participate in the alms-giving tradition of Tak Bat, an event of great importance for Lao Buddhists. Afterward, explore the Pak Ou Caves – famed for housing more than 10,000 statues of the Buddha in a cavern overlooking the Mekong River – and the village of Ban Muang Khaeo. Travelers will gather together after nightfall for a traditional Baci ceremony with special guest Prince Tiao Nithakong Somsanith. Afterward, have a bittersweet farewell dinner by the Amantaka pool.
Check out of the plush Amantaka in the afternoon and your adventure comes to an end. Board your flight home with a lifetime of memories.
