Remote Lands Launches Hot and Cold Winter Issue for Asia in 2020

Beach or ice? Jungle or slopes? Tiger or snow leopard? This issue of the hot and cold winter picks from Remote Lands features everything you want to know about where you should go for winter in 2020.

When it comes to Asia, you’ve got options. The frozen wastes of Siberia for some dog sledding or maybe a maitai on a beach in Indonesia? Trekking with tigers in Madhya Pradesh or snow leopards in Ladakh? Skiing in Kyrgyzstan or dune bashing in Muscat? The winter months are when much of Asia comes alive; temperatures and winds calm for kinder weather in much of Southeast Asia and the colder regions of the continent turn a harsh, icy white for adventure travelers. In this issue, Remote Lands will be looking at five hot and five cold winter destinations, helping travelers figure out why they should go and where they should stay. Whether you’re running to the cold or from it, the issue has a solution.

Using the inexhaustible fonts of knowledge at Remote Lands, Travelogues has scoured the travel world for the latest info on the winter season’s hottest destinations, from adventure travel writers and photographers to industry pros like Jason Friedman. The cover for this issue is from Anton Borodavka on the frozen Lake Baikal, setting the wintery tone for this season-specific installment.

Also this issue we have a review of the two very different (and very new) Six Senses in Singapore; take a trip with Laurel Tuohy to the Opium Suite and Merchant room of these luxe hotels. Expounding on one of our hot picks for winter, expert photographer Jordan Hammond is on hand with how to experience the tribal and photographic wonders of Coron for blue waters, empty islands, and sky-high karsts. Also this issue we’ve got one of our favorite adventurers, Richard Collett, climbing the notorious Mount Mayon for a volcanic treat. In Southeast Asia, Jay Tindall is on hand with photos and videos of the odd desert dunes of Vietnam in Mui Ne.

Also, there’s still time to join in the Bill Bensley Trail, a journey through some of Asia’s finest hotels with one of Earth’s greatest design minds.
