Sugato Mukherjee is a photographer and writer based in Calcutta. His works have appeared in BBC, The Globe and Mail, National Geographic Traveller, Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle, Fodor's Travel, and Atlas Obscura, among others. His coffee table book on Ladakh has received critical acclaim, and Sugato's work on the sulfur miners of East Java was awarded distinctions by UNESCO. He enjoys writing about offbeat destinations and exotic food as much as photographing his long term documentary projects.
