Alila Fort Bishangarh

India | Jaipur

Opening in 2017, Alila Fort Bishangarh, located at Bishangarh Village in the Jaipur District, is just three hours’ drive from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. Surveying the Rajasthani landscape from its hilltop vantage-point, this striking and romantic 59-suite resort - a fine example of Jaipur Gharana architecture influenced by the Mughals and the British - has been lovingly restored and adapted from the ancient defenses of the old fort to become the very apex of luxury living. Each of the custom-designed accommodations comes with indulgent bathrooms - featuring inbuilt bathtubs - and simple, elegant and stylish interiors all finished with tall, openable windows, carefully designed to make the most of the incomparable views of the surrounding area. Guests can take advantage of up to four different bars and restaurants - including the Kachhawa Lounge dedicated to Champagne, coffee, chai and cakes - while experiencing the very best in discrete and attentive service from the hotel staff, all in the regal surroundings once home to the Shahpura royalty. Alila Fort Bishangarh is due to open later this year, and may be tentatively included in Remote Lands itineraries scheduled for late 2017.


Alila Jabal Akhdar Resort

Oman | Jebel Akhdar

The Al Hajar mountains form one of the most photogenic regions of Oman - a widely underrated country known throughout the Middle East for its diverse natural beauty and fascinating culture. The Alila Jabal Akhdar Resort takes full advantage of the location, perched thousands of feet above sea level, looking down into a spectacular gorge that plummets to the ground below. And it's not just a good location that sets this resort apart from the rest. The wonderfully appointed range of suites here boast 'ridge', 'mountain' or 'horizon' views, each as spectacular as the next. This, after all, is a five-star hotel, so expect the rooms to come fully furnished with all the facilities you would expect; this means free high-speed WiFi, cable TV, air conditioning and lavish en-suite bathrooms with a quality range of toiletries. Away from the rooms, take a dip in one of the indoor or outdoor swimming pools, or enjoy delicious, elegantly presented local specialities at the resort's signature 'Juniper Restaurant' or adjacent 'Rose Lounge'. Alila Jabal Akhdar is approximately 2.5 hours away from the major Muscat International Airport of Oman.


Alila Manggis

Indonesia | Bali

Set between the cerulean waters of the Bali Sea and the peaks of Mount Agung, Bali’s most sacred mountain, the Alila Manggis offers intimate, secluded comfort. Situated amidst a coconut grove, the resort offers fifty-three rooms and suites, all of which feature plush beds, private balconies or terraces, flat-screen televisions, in-room safes, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The Alila is home to an in-house restaurant, Seasalt, whose signature dish is an upscale rendition of megibung, a traditional, intimate Balinese meal served on banana leaves and shared among a small group of friends and family. In addition to Seasalt, the Alila is also home to an organic garden and outdoor restaurant, as well as the Living Room, a comfortable, open-air lounge that serves drinks and snacks. Additional amenities include a full-service spa with a variety of traditional and Western treatments, a yoga pavilion, and a swimming pool. The Alila Manggis lies a little more than an hour away from Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Alila Seminyak Beach Resort

On the island’s southwestern tip, lapped by the waves of the Indian Ocean, Seminyak has long been a by-word for luxurious Balinese vacations. Alila Villas Uluwatu

Located on a clifftop plateau on the Bikut Peninsula on Bali’s southern coastline, the Alila Villas Ululwatu was designed by the award-winning Singapore architecture firm WOHA using environmentally sustainable principles, including water conservation and recycling and the use of local stone, wood, rattan and other raw materials. The luxury property, which opened in 2009, is the recipient of the prestigious Green Globe “Best Practice Building, Planning and Design” certification. Its 84 sea-view, private-pool villas feature contemporary Balinese accents along with such amenities as 24-hour butler service, wireless Internet and flat-screen satellite TVs. The resort has a 24-hour fitness center with yoga and pilates studio, while the Spa Alila features a variety of massage, skin and hair treatments. Dining includes the contemporary décor and western cuisine of CIRE and authentic Indonesian and Balinese dishes at Warung. Alila Villas Uluwatu is approximately 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
