Looking back on 2019, we at Remote Lands have had an incredible year. Here in New York, the biggest change for us has been the move to our new penthouse offices in Manhattan at 120 East 56th Street. In the coming year, we look forward to taking travelers to the Summer Games in Tokyo in August 2020, the Singapore Grand Prix, and all the important Asian festivals and events in 2020.
The Remote Lands family grew quite a bit this year with new staff members. In New York, we welcomed our new Director of Business Development, Melisa Novick, Luxury Travel Associate Christian Gibney, Luxury Travel Sales Manager Molly Perkins, Luxury Travel Associate Jenna Bucien, Luxury Travel Financial Analyst Sam Renikoff, and Luxury Travel Managers Anna Arnet, Clarissa Dourmashkin-Cagol, Lydia Smith, and Matthew Lesperance. Across the globe in Bangkok, our operations team took on Amy Poulton as our Product Coordinator, Arjun Subedi as a Travel Assistance Executive, and Sawang (Tan) Kruangram as a Travel Consultant.
From our family to yours, we wish you a very Happy Holidays.

We have been pleased this year to have successfully completed four Jet Journeys by Aman. These remarkable trips with Remote Lands are limited to eight or nine couples per journey aboard an Airbus ACJ 318, with touring and transfers with a private car, driver, and guide — all while staying exclusively at Aman resorts. There are still spaces available on Jet Journeys by Aman in 2020, including Bali to Luang Prabang in September and China, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka in October. Two seats for one lucky couple remain on The Grandest Tour Jet Journey to nine countries over 21 nights from Tokyo to Venice.

The massive Golden Temple complex has a huge kitchen and dining rooms and every day they serve free food to something like 100,000 people. All work is done by volunteers and I volunteered myself making and serving the food. It is all a very moving experience and I am so impressed with the Sikhs who are so kind and generous.

On the way to the [Royal Highlander] festival, I happened across the prime minister, Lotay Tshering, who was also ascending. The king had started the festival only a few years ago and always made it a point of attending, but this year he had been called away to Japan at the last minute.

My first trip to Vietnam was amazing, besides the beautiful landscapes and amazing food tour in Hoi An, I loved having the opportunity to volunteer at a school where we taught English to young Vietnamese students. But what truly touched me was their knowledge of world events, especially the effects of climate change on the Earth and they taught us about the need to be mindful when traveling. — Director of Business Development Melisa Novick

Being able to see why Remote Lands is the Tiffany's of travel makes our jobs so much easier each day. On top of this, being able to explore obscure yet mesmerizing destinations and hotels was exhilarating.
