Christian’s desire to get involved with the travel industry began with the weekend trips he would plan around Europe while living and working at the University of Heidelberg’s Orthopedic Clinic in Heidelberg, Germany. The slow migration from his beginnings in biomedical engineering to travel continued as Christian spent time as a tour guide leading coast-to-coast trips across the United States visiting America’s great National Parks and cities, to a stint in Guangzhou, China teaching English at an after-school academy, and a few years as a Travel Consultant at a top New York City-based travel agency before joining Remote Lands. Along this professional journey, Christian has lived and worked on three continents, all the while embarking on adventures that include hiking the Inca Trail in Peru, visiting Trappist monk breweries in the Belgian countryside, and singing karaoke with locals in Osaka. When he isn’t in the office, you’ll usually find Christian enjoying dim sum out in Flushing, cheering from the cheap seats at Yankee Stadium, or playing cricket in an empty lot along Manhattan’s 2nd Avenue.
