Each year in May, a different city hosts this two-day festival, attracting local and international visitors. ‘Echo of ages’ is a celebration of the various traditions of the country. There are performances of folk music, dancing and storytelling, horse racing, wrestling and culinary competitions between traditional Uzbek chefs.
For three days each June, connoisseurs of fine things converge upon ancient Bukhara, on the Great Silk Road, to enjoy and sample the city’s heritage and products. Raw silks, spices and wooden crafts are available under the domes of the bazaar and master craftsmen give workshops in pottery, embroidery, metal work and much more.
