Happy Holidays from Remote Lands
On behalf of the entire Remote Lands team, we would like to wish you a wonderful holiday season and our very best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016.
As the year draws to a close, we are looking back at a memorable 2015 for Remote Lands, our best year to date.
Our People Our teams in New York and Bangkok continued to grow, so much so that we have had to move offices in both cities. Again!
In New York, Jessica Ng, Lizzie Spence, and Kateryna Bagdasarian (fluent in Spanish and Russian) joined our Luxury Sales Team. In Asia, Supattra Jenpeerasilp joined our Bangkok office as Operations Manager, responsible for the entire operations group who work so hard behind the scenes to make our clients' itineraries come to life. Alongside Supattra we also welcomed Yanee Srihasen and Usa Prakobsub to operations and Taweesak Sumpangern to our web development team. Phil Ingram joined us as our Director of Global Marketing, based out of Hong Kong.
Staff Reconaissance Travels We traveled far and wide looking for the unique experiences that are at the heart of any holiday with Remote Lands. In Malaysia, we experienced the Thaipusam Festival at the Batu Caves, near Kuala Lumpur, wondered at the wildlife in the Jungles of Sabah, and followed the Tribal Trail in Laos to meet the Luang Namtha and Muang Sing hill tribe people.
In Japan we discovered the art of Naoshima Island, the charming town of Kurashiki, and the sacred mountain of Koyasan.
We relaxed in the Upper House in Hong Kong, experienced the world of Avatar in Zhangjiajie National Park in China, and went Seoul Searching in South Korea. We explored Dubai and Abu Dhabi and discovered the United Arab Emirates outside of those these famous cities.
And finally, we visited a truly remote land, Papua New Guinea, searching for, and finding, spirits, The Crocodile Men, The Huli Wigmen Tribe, and Eternal Fire.
Our Press Our unique knowledge of Asia meant plenty of attention from the press, including The Financial Times, Travel & Leisure, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Departures Magazine, US News and World Report, and Conde Nast Traveler.
And Finally... Our crowning achievement of 2015 must be our very own Co-Founder & CEO, Catherine Heald, being selected by Conde Nast Traveler for their 2015 list of the world’s top travel specialists.
Looking forward to 2016, there will be new itineraries and experiences across all of our destinations. Asia continues to fire the imaginations of travelers and Remote Lands is delighted to play its part in sharing the continent we love with the rest of the World.
Wherever you are, please allow us to wish you a wonderful festive season and a happy and prosperous New Year.
