On behalf of the entire Remote Lands team, we would like to wish you a wonderful holiday season and very best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2014.
As 2013 winds to a close, we are looking back at a momentous year and by far our most successful to date.
We expanded our teams considerably in both New York and Bangkok. Alistair Ballantine, who was President of Abercrombie & Kent for 25 years, came on as Strategic Advisor. Dennis Tan, a 20 year veteran of Abercrombie & Kent SE Asia, joined as VP of Sales based in our Bangkok office. And Victoria Hilley signed on as General Manager of our New York office after having worked in Asia travel for over 20 years living in Bangkok, Hanoi, Kota Kinabalu and the Maldives.
We launched our new website to considerable acclaim, with hundreds of interesting and creative Asia itineraries including dedicated yachting and private jet programmes and a blog. We were featured in such prestigious publications as Financial Times, National Geographic, DestinAsian and the BBC. We were chosen again for Travel + Leisure’s A-List of the foremost travel specialists.
Our team travelled throughout Asia including such remote locations as India's Nagaland, Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago, China's Silk Road and Tibet. We played with Giant Pandas in Chengdu, met naga babas at India's enormous Kumbh Mela festival, and went scuba diving in Thailand's Similan Islands. And, most importantly, we created amazing bespoke Asia holidays for our clients!
We have even bigger plans for 2014 - new itineraries, new destinations and even new offices, and we'll be updating you on these in due course. Asia continues to be the world's most vibrant and diverse travel region, and we're proud to be at the heart of it, sharing its unique magic with our clients.
