Honeymoon on a Boat Made for Two
Renowned British travel writer Sophy Roberts is a good friend of Remote Lands, and she recently write a piece for the Financial Times about the growing popularity of private honeymoon cruises. Her article features popular Asian cruising destinations including Indonesia, the Maldives, and Vietnam's Halong Bay, and features several Remote Lands cruise itineraries!
Remote Lands Honoured by Travel+Leisure & Virtuoso
Travel+Leisure magazine recently published its annual A-List of the world's foremost travel advisors in its September 2014 issue. For the fourth consecutive year, our co-founder & CEO Catherine Heald was recognised for her expertise in Southeast Asia. Just 133 top specialists were selected out of tens of thousands of travel professionals for this highly prestigious award, which was announced in Las Vegas on August 12. And Remote Lands was also amongst the nominees at Virtuoso's annual TravelWeek event in Las Vegas, in which the world's leading luxury travel network recognises outstanding contributions to the world of luxury travel. Remote Lands was honored to be nominated for Best Active & Specialty Provider along along with Micato, Lindblad and other world-class tour operators.
We Are the Jet Set!
Private jet group tours are a growing trend in luxury travel, and a recent Wall Street Journal article took a look at this phenomenon, featuring input from leading travel specialists. Kyoto Finally Gets a Super-Luxury Hotel
Kyoto has been one of Japan's most popular destinations for many years, but only this year did it get its first internationally branded ultra-luxe hotel - the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto. CNN greeted the hotel's arrival with an extensive feature, and interviewed our own Catherine Heald to get an expert opinion on the new opening.
