REMOTE LANDS LAUNCHES JAPAN INSIDER MAGAZINE

The Remote Lands team is delighted to announce our latest magazine, Japan Insider, a deep-dive into our most popular destination discussing everything from cultural intricacies to hip Tokyo neighborhoods and lesser-visited gems. Famously, Japan is a nation that has embraced technology while retaining its millennia-old traditions, creating a place that is neither ultra-modern nor anachronistic but something entirely unique. Neon-lit cities buzz with culture while landscapes encompass everything from sub-tropical islands to misty mountain ranges. We’ve covered all these subjects — and more — in our dedicated special issue.

In this special issue, Remote Lands investigates the unique aspects that make Japan such a fascinating destination. We provide insights into ryokans, sumo, geisha, samurai, sumptuous kaiseki dining, tea ceremonies, Zen gardens, Sakura season, and otaku (geek) culture, all of which contribute to the rich tapestry of Japanese culture.

The issue uncovers a range of highlights, including the impressive southern regions of Kyushu and Shikoku, the cultural marvels of the Setouchi region, and Japan's captivating whisky distilleries. We invite you to raise a glass with us and toast one of our favorite travel destinations.

Our tour of Japan takes us to some of the country's most captivating destinations. While Tokyo boasts many of the elements that make Japan a popular tourist destination, we explore its diverse neighborhoods, from the latest architectural achievements to the fashion-forward trends sported by the locals.

Other pitstops, meanwhile, include the subtropical paradise of Okinawa in the far south, the wreck dives at Atami on the Izu Peninsula, and the ryokans (traditional inns) that dot the nation.

We hope you enjoy reading this magazine and it provides you with some ideas for your next Japan adventure. As always, our team of Japan experts are on hand to guide you. You can reach them at [email protected].
