Remote Lands, Inc. Announces New Luxury Experiences & Destinations in China

Remote Lands, Inc., the New York- and Bangkok-based ultra-luxe private tour operator focused exclusively on Asia, today announced new luxury destinations and experiences for its China luxury holidays.

Remote Lands' China luxury tours now include a private helicopter charter over the Great Wall of China, accompanied by one of the world’s foremost scholars on the subject. The chopper lands at a remote location where a gourmet picnic lunch is set up, complete with white linen tablecloths, fine champagne and even a portable bathroom.

Remote Lands is excited about the opening of several new China luxury hotels in Yunnan Province, including Anantara in Xishuangbanna, near the border with Thailand and Angsana Fuxian Lake in Chengjiang just south of Kunming.

Remote Lands constantly strives to stay at the cutting edge of Asia custom travel. According to Remote Lands CEO Catherine Heald, “We love getting off the beaten path, and when we can go to remote places and not have to compromise on comfort, all the better.

Shangri-la Hotels continue to be a leader in opening up new luxury destinations in China with properties in decidedly non-touristy cities like Baotou, Beihai, Changzhou, Haikou, Manzhouli, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Yangzhou and Zhongshan. New hotels are opening soon in Qinhuangdao, Zhoushan, Jinan, Yingkou and more where Remote Lands clients will be able to enjoy China luxury vacations for the first time.

Pingyao is another city that is relatively unknown to foreign tourists, yet it boasts an ancient city wall that is still largely intact, fascinating history including being one of China’s centers of Jewish heritage, and a 5-star Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel called Jing’s Residence.
