Macao in January

Macao, an autonomous city and former Portuguese colony on China’s southern coast, has a humid subtropical climate. December through February is winter when it is cool, dry and generally mild with temperatures above 13 °C (55 °F) most of the time, although it can drop below 8 °C (46 °F) at times. The coolest month is January, with a mean temperature of 14.5 °C (58 °F). Many travelers use this time to visit the Ruins of St. Paul, remnants of a spectacular 17th century Portuguese church that are now a Unesco world heritage site and form one of the region’s best known landmarks.
