Saudi Arabia in August

Along with intense heat, summer brings sandstorms driven by summer south winds. By July, temperatures peak somewhere around 122F and nighttime brings no relief at 82F. However, nighttime in the desert and along the coasts of the Red Sea are more tolerable.  There is very little rainfall to cool things down, though humidity is low as well. The holy city of Mecca is the hottest place in the Kingdom during summers, while mountainous Abha is the cool summer capital.
