Saudi Arabia’s growing collection of ultra-luxury resorts is set to expand with the arrival of Amansamar, a new Aman property taking shape in Wadi Safar, near the UNESCO-listed Diriyah and within the greater Riyadh area.
The development will include an 80-key resort and a limited number of branded residences, marking the group’s first residential offering in the Kingdom.

Set against a desert escarpment within the broader Wadi Safar development, Amansamar is designed to reflect the region’s historical and cultural significance. The name blends “Aman,” meaning peace in Sanskrit, with “Samar,” an Arabic word associated with the evening ritual of storytelling and connection. It also references the acacia tree—an enduring symbol in desert landscapes—which will feature prominently throughout the site.
The resort will be designed by Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston and will follow Aman’s core principles of privacy, calm, and minimalist design. The branded residences—comprising five- to six-bedroom villas and estates—will be built on large plots starting at 9,000 square metres. Each is positioned to take advantage of the natural terrain, offering expansive views and natural light.
Owners will have access to the Amansamar Residence Club, a private space for dining, wellness, and social experiences. They will also receive invitations to join the global Aman Club, which offers access to programming and facilities at other Aman destinations including Tokyo, New York, Bangkok, and upcoming projects in Miami Beach and Beverly Hills.

Shared facilities for both hotel guests and homeowners will include an Aman Spa with hammam and banya houses, hydrotherapy facilities, multiple pools, a Racquet Club, and a Kids’ Club. Dining venues and wellness spaces will form a core part of the resort experience. Residents will also benefit from proximity to the Wadi Safar Royal Signature Golf Course, designed by Greg Norman, as well as polo and equestrian amenities.
Currently under construction, Amansamar joins a growing pipeline of Aman Group destinations across the Middle East. Other projects in the region include Aman AlUla and Janu Diriyah in Saudi Arabia, Aman Dubai and Janu Dubai in the UAE, and Amangati—a 183-metre luxury yacht being developed in partnership with Cruise Saudi, expected to begin operations in the Mediterranean in 2027.
