Everything was perfect. Everything.
A Couple from California

Why We Love This Hotel :

Location: The resort is set on its own private black volcanic sand beach

Privacy: Amankila is located in a remote hillside area on the east side of Bali overlooking waters of the Lombok Strait, making the resort exceptionally private, exclusive and peaceful

Watersports: Amankila has a private luxury boat for trips around the islands as well as fishing, snorkeling and diving

Guests can experience true Balinese holistic care at the Amankila, with its extensive facilities that can cleanse the body and feed the mind. The Beach Club, nestled into the base of a cliff, provides the setting for the Amankila’s large pool, while also supplying guests with watersports equipment and lessons. Yoga classes, to cleanse the spirit and body, can be done at the Beach Club or in the privacy of one’s room, and a library has an extensive collection of books and up-to-date newspapers and magazines.

Amankila offers yoga sessions, either on the beach or in the privacy of guests' rooms; additionally, the resort features an excellent gym, complete with exercise machines, weights, and other equipment.

Set in a spacious, well-lit room, the library features a variety of games, books, and music.

Set in a shaded, custom-built pavilion set amongst the trees, the spa features a series of sturdy teakwood massage tables.  The treatments mainly consist of traditional Balinese massage - a soothing, relaxing experience designed to help guests shed their worries and anxieties.

Swimming Pools

Amankila is home to a number of pools, including a 134-foot outdoor pool located by the beach club, as well as its signature pool (pictured below).  Consisting of three tiered, aquamarine pools stacked on the cliff edge, Amankila's signature pool was inspired by the design of traditional Balinese rice terraces.

The resort offers exotic regional and contemporary international cuisine, in a large restaurant over looking the sea. Guests may also request private dining either in their suites or idyllic secluded locations around the resort. Local Balinese dancers and school children perform traditional dances daily, which guests may enjoy during mealtimes. Guests may also, if they wish, learn the secrets behind Indonesian cooking at one of the resort’s cooking classes and market excursions.

Amankila's Bar

Opposite the main restaurant, Amankila's bar sports sweeping vistas of the surrounding ocean, and serves a variety of cocktails and other refreshing beverages in a breezy, open-air setting.

The Beach Club

The Beach Club is a poolside bar resting between the resort swimming pool and the beach. The bar serves drinks and snacks by the pool or in private bales interspersed along the sands.

The Restaurant

Set beneath a thatched, alang alang roof, the resort’s open-air restaurant overlooks the sea.  It serves a variety of western and Indonesian cuisine in a tasteful, intimate setting, decorated with Balinese sculptures and furnished with locally-sourced furniture.

In the afternoons, Balinese women dressed in traditional outfits serve complimentary afternoon tea in front of the library, consisting of delicious fresh ginger tea or Balinese coffee, and local baked goods.

The Terrace

The Terrace, adjacent to Amankila's famous, three-tiered infinity pool, is a light eatery open for breakfast and lunch.  It serves Asian and Western cuisine, including salads, pizzas, and other light fare, as well as a range of hot and cold drinks.
