Kohima Camp

Why We Love This Hotel :

Location: The tents of Kohima Camp are located in the rainforests of Nagaland, known as the Switzerland of the East and home to the Naga tribes.

History: The colonial style of these luxurious tents recall the days of of the British Raj, while nearby, traditional Naga villages operate as they have for centuries.

Service: Each tent has a dedicated butler to take care of guests’ needs around the clock.

Visitors to Kohima Camp are there primarily to see the Naga Hornbill Festival, though there’s the opportunity to visit local villages and trek through the rainforest.

Naga Hornbill Festival

For 10 days in December every year, the 16 Naga tribes stage a festival showcasing their various cultures and traditions, with food, games, performances and stalls travelers can enjoy while learning about the local culture. The Naga were previously headhunters and their rich heritage makes an intriguing highlight to any journey.

Village visits

Kohima Camp is in an excellent position to take day trips to nearby villages and witness traditional tribal life.

A communal dining tent gives guests a chance to mingle with other travelers. Fresh local, Western and Indian food is prepared onsite and in-room dining is available. After dinner, guests can unwind by the fireside.

Dining tent

Guests can interact with fellow travelers over breakfast and swap stories over a sumptuous dinner, prepared by the onsite chef. Fresh gourmet ingredients and a fine selection of wines are on offer, ensuring guests an exciting culinary journey.
