The acclaimed Grandest Tour returns offering guests seven Aman sanctuaries across seven different countries, in just one journey by private jet. Over three weeks, journey from ultra-modern Tokyo through the vast continent of Asia to the ruins of the Classical Era in Greece. Guests will also enjoy a special touch down at the iconic Taj Mahal, and spend two nights in the ancient silk road city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan.

Our jet is a luxurious custom-outfitted Airbus ACJ 319 (or similar), modified to feature 19 seats instead of the standard 130, and is one of the finest ultra-long-range private aircraft available. The interior is configured in a spacious lounge design—there are two large cabins—creating a relaxed, comfortable, and social atmosphere that is quite unlike commercial jets.

DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T DO GROUP TRAVEL

Each journey accommodates a maximum of 16-18 guests, ensuring ample space and an exceptionally comfortable in-flight experience, where you want to relax with a book or enjoy a cocktail with new friends. So, while expeditions involve a fun social group atmosphere, they retain the benefits of private travel. With this hybrid model, we describe the Aman Jet Expeditions as being designed for people who do not usually do group travel.

  • Fitted with 19 seats
  • Two pilots, two flight attendants, one chef & one engineer
  • Spacious lounge configuration
  • Three restrooms

Aman-Tokyo.jpg

An urban sanctuary atop the shimmering Otemachi Tower, Aman Tokyo is a monument to the modern-day Japanese capital, a place where dynamism is tempered with serenity. History, commerce and culture fuse truly cosmopolitan yet intrinsically Japanese aesthetics, offering fascinating juxtapositions at every turn.

Amanoi-2.jpg

Perched over Vinh Hy Bay, this secluded retreat inspires both adventure and serenity. There is much to explore within the bounds of Nui Chua National Park: the private beach and colorful coral reefs, and the protected wilderness hugging 20 miles of coastline. Equally powerful paths of discovery are uncovered in the healing philosophy of the Aman Spa, and in pioneering Wellness Villas that offer total immersion in this exceptionally beautiful setting.

Amanpuri,-Phuket.jpg

Scattered with coconut palms overlooking the Andaman Sea, the Amanpuri peninsula on Phuket’s west coast provides a peaceful enclave in which to relax and rejuvenate in complete privacy. The iconic flagship resort features Ayutthayuan-style upturned roofs of the guest pavilions sheltering sleek, spacious interiors, which have all received a meticulous reconfiguration, enhancing their Thai design heritage.

Amangalla-Sri-Lanka.jpg

Amangalla sits within the ramparts of the historic 17th century Galle Fort, a setting blessed with a rich legacy and narrow streets lined with buildings from the Dutch and British colonial eras. Offering views of 200-year-old gardens and the fort and harbor beyond, Amangalla presents stately high-ceilinged suites evocative of another epoch.

Amanwella-Sri-Lanka.jpg

Amanwella is situated just west of Tangalle in a mature coconut grove fronting a crescent-shaped beach. The modernist design, informed by Sri Lanka’s most notable architect, Geoffrey Bawa, makes use of local materials. Suites are linked by pathways, spread out along the hillside to the west of the public areas, providing views of the ocean and beach flanked by two rocky headlands.

Amanbagh-India.jpg

Amanbagh is a verdant oasis of mature palm, fruit and eucalyptus trees lying within a walled compound once the staging area for royal hunts. Evoking the palatial elegance of the Mughal era, Amanbagh provides a tranquil base from which to explore the rich heritage of Rajasthan, India’s dramatic frontier region. The topography of the surrounding Alwar region consists of sandy plains interspersed with craggy hills, a stark contrast to Amanbagh’s verdant setting.

Amanzoe,-Greece.jpg

Amanzoe
Greece

Designed by renowned architect, the late Ed Tuttle, Amanzoe is situated on a hilltop close to the town of Porto Heli on the eastern coast of the Peloponnese peninsula. Set on a gentle rise surrounded by undulating olive groves, Amanzoe’s 360-degree views take in idyllic Peloponnese countryside, beaches dotted with rocky coves, and the glittering Aegean Sea.

Offer a prayer and receive a blessing in return — it is believed the ritual has a powerful cleansing effect, both spiritually and psychologically.

Sumo-2026.jpg

Meet with retired sumo wrestlers to learn more about the ancient artform. Sumo is a serious sport that combines weight, speed, intellect, technique and guile, and many ritual elements such as purifying the ring with salt. In this informational session, you will be free to ask questions and, if you wish, you can also don a ‘sumo suit’ and try your hand at the sport.

Phuket-Helicopter-3.jpg

Helicopter Over Phang Nga Bay

Charter a private helicopter for an exhilarating ride over Thailand’s stunning UNESCO-listed Phang Nga Bay, where hundreds of limestone karst peaks thrust up out of the sea in a variety of formations, towering over the turquoise water (additional cost).

Touchdown at the Taj Mahal

Jet into the city of Agra for a specially-arranged touchdown at the iconic Taj Mahal, on your way to Uzbekistan. An immense 17th-century Murghal marble monument, the Taj Mahal remains one of the world’s great archeological masterpieces of form and function, which every visitor to India should try to see at least once.

GD-2026-National-Park.jpg

Into the Wild

Venture inland from Amanwella for a world-class safari in Sri Lanka’s national parks. Spot elephants in Udawalawe, migratory birds in Bundala, and leopards in Yala. For a deeper connection, visit a sanctuary where orphaned elephant calves are gently rehabilitated.

After lunch aboard our jet, arrive on the tropical Andaman island of Phuket for several days of beach bliss and relaxation. Enjoy your leisure time here, making the most of Amanpuri's amenities. Lounge on the beach and partake in Amanpuri's water sports activities or swimming the turquoise seas. If relaxation beckons, consider booking a spa treatment at the Aman Spa at your own convenience. Golf enthusiasts can borrow clubs from Amanpuri and enjoy a round at one of the six nearby courses, with Amanpuri's assistance in making reservations.

The highlight of Phuket is a special yacht excursion to the famous UNESCO-protected Phang Nga Bay, complete with lunch and champagne on board. Cruise on the sparkling blue waters and explore the towering limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay. This shallow bay boasts 42 islands and houses a variety of mangrove species, some endangered, including the dugong. For an even more memorable experience, consider a helicopter charter for an exhilarating ride over Phang Nga Bay. Witness the dramatic limestone karst peaks rising from the turquoise waters from a bird’s eye perspective. Please note that this experience incurs an additional cost.

Day 10

Galla-2026-01.jpg

Galle Amangalla

Arrive in southern Sri Lanka and begin your exploration with an overnight stay at Amangalla, set within the storied walls of 17th-century Galle Fort. En route from the airport, guests may stop to visit Wewurukannala Viharaya, home to the country’s tallest seated Buddha and an evocative “Hall of Horrors” depicting Buddhist teachings on morality and karma.

That afternoon, continue into Galle town—by private vehicle or local tuk-tuk—for a walking tour through lively markets and colonial-era streets before watching the sun set from the historic ramparts. The following morning, enjoy breakfast and an optional yoga session before setting out for a day of discovery tailored to your interests.

Visit local markets, explore the heritage-rich Handunugoda Tea Estate, uncover the secrets of blue moonstones at Meetiyagoda, or receive a blessing at one of Galle’s tranquil temples. Later, journey east along the palm-fringed coast to Amanwella, a serene modernist retreat on a golden crescent of beach near Tangalle.

Day 11–13

GT-Day10-13.jpg

Tangalle Amanwella

Continue your Sri Lankan journey with two nights at Amanwella, a tranquil retreat set on a golden arc of palm-fringed coastline near Tangalle. Arrive and settle into your Ocean Pool Suite before enjoying the remainder of the day at leisure—whether unwinding by your private pool or walking along the secluded crescent beach.

The following day begins with an optional yoga session on the sand at sunrise, followed by a day tailored entirely to your pace. With a private car, driver, and guide at your disposal, choose to explore the lively fishing harbour and morning markets of Tangalle, or take a nature walk through the nearby village, encountering monkeys, lizards, and migratory birds along the way.

Other options include a visit to the distinctive tunnel temple of Weherahena, or a helicopter-optional wildlife safari to nearby Udawalawe or Yala National Parks—home to elephants, leopards, and prolific birdlife. In the evening, gather with fellow guests for a beachside cocktail and dinner under the stars.

Day 13–16

Amanbagh-2026-2.jpg

Alwar Amanbagh

Transfer to India by private jet, where we have arranged a special touchdown in Agra, where you may explore the iconic Taj Mahal with your private car, driver and guide. A private transfer will take you to Amanbagh, a palatial and tranquil base from which to explore Rajasthan’s rich heritage.

Suggested experiences include a jeep ride through the archaeologically-rich ancient ruined city of Bhangarh, and the Cowdust Tour — hop in an open Jeep to explore fascinating rural villages surrounding Amanbagh. History enthusiasts may also be interested in seeing the Neelkanth Temples, and remote Ajabgarh Fort. Back at Amanbagh, you are invited to a fire meditation ceremony. This meditation is based on the concept that fire is the purest of the five elements. Participants sit around a fire called a hawan, composed of natural herbs and fragrant wood from the Himalayas. The session includes chanting the Gayatri mantra, a powerful Hindu mantra intended to energize the body’s 24 chakras or centers of spiritual power.

Day 16–18

Samarkand-1.jpg

Samarkand Samarkand Regency

Upon arrival in ancient Samarkand, Uzbekistan, you have the afternoon to explore the city at your own pace with your private car, driver, and guide before a private transfer to your hotel. Options include visiting the bustling Siyob Bazaar to experience the local market culture and tasting the renowned Samarkand naan bread. You can also explore the ancient archeological site of Afrasiab and the historic Ulugh Beg Observatory.

The following day, continue your exploration of Samarkand with your guide. Visit the magnificent Registan Square, adorned with three stunning madrassas showcasing intricate mosaic patterns and detailed carvings. Explore the Ulugh Beg Madrassa and the Shirdor and Tilla Kari Madrassas, both featuring impressive architecture and mosaics.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Gur Emir Mausoleum, the resting place of Tamerlane, and the grand Bibi-Khanym Mosque, built with precious stones captured during Tamerlane's conquests. Explore the Shakhi-Zinda complex, with its beautiful Islamic architecture and colorful tiles. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour and tasting at the oldest winery in Uzbekistan, where you can sample various wines and local vodkas. Gather with your expedition group for cocktails and dinner at a local museum.

The following morning, board your private jet for the journey from Samarkand to Athens, Greece. Lunch will be served onboard during the flight.

Day 18–21

Amanzoe-2026-1.jpg

Peloponnese Amanzoe

Fly by private jet to Athens, where a helicopter will collect you at the airport and transfer you to the magnificent Amanzoe. Unwind at Amanzoe for the remainder of the day, enjoying the facilities, spa treatments, and classically Mediterranean vibes.

The following day, embark on a shared boat excursion to Spetses Island, a small and charming Greek island, where you'll have lunch at a local taverna along the pebbled coast. Afterward, you're free to explore Spetses Town and its picturesque waterfront promenade. Don't forget to bring your swim gear and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Spetses Island.

Relaxation is on the agenda for the final day. Enjoy the Beach Club, nestled below Amanzoe on a sheltered bay, at your leisure. Complimentary transfers are provided to the Aegean, where you can partake in watersports. The serene beach club features four swimming pools, a casual eatery, and a two-room spa. Gather in the evening with your fellow travelers for farewell cocktails and dinner. Raise a toast to the wonderful journey you've experienced.

Enjoy breakfast at Amanzoe before a private transfer to Athens airport at your leisure.

I'd say it has met or exceeded all my expectations. Everything is as beautiful as I expected it would be, but there was a lot more maneuverability on the ground as far as spontaneity.

The highlight of the trip was not needing to plan anything. It feels so freeing to just be able to get on a flight, not have to do any work for the trip, and have a far beyond amazing experience that's not so touristy and more localized. Another thing I loved was that we had a driver and a tour guide everywhere we go.

This trip is very interesting because you're traveling with a group of people, but you're also traveling with yourself and your spouse or your significant other. So you have an ability to be together as a group and also to do things with your significant other. I thought that was a fantastic way to run this trip.
