AYANA Resort and Spa
The lovely AYANA Resort and Spa sits atop the cliffs of Jimbaran Bay, offering expansive views of the Indian Ocean. The hotel’s 290 rooms and 78 private villas are spread out over almost a mile of secluded coastline. Holding a coveted spot on Conde Nast Traveler magazine’s “Gold List,” Ayana is noted for its spectacular spa, which features two spa villas set on large, seaside rocks. Spacious rooms come with private balconies and are appointed with Indonesian decorative artefacts as well as modern comforts, including 42-inch flatscreen TVs and aromatic burners. Seven bars and restaurants comprise a wide variety of dining options at the resort, from trattoria-style Italian to seafood served on a terrace and local cocktails served on a cool, open-air lounge jutting out of the main rock face and perched 45 feet above crashing waves. Three pools, including one with an infinity edge, a private beach, an 18-hole putting course, a fully equipped gym and an array of on-site activities and classesmake Ayana one of the nicest resorts in Bali.

Accommodation at Ayana includes rooms and suites as well as private villas dotted throughout its tropical gardens. Each room in the main building measures around 517 square feet and offers elegant and modern furnishings with king-size or twin beds, a marble bathroom with tub and separate rain shower, flat screen TV and coffee and tea making facilities, plus fresh fruit. Villas are all free-standing and perched on the cliff-top amidtropical plants and trees, providing ample space for families and privacy for couples. Villas have their own separate reception for check-in.
Two-bedroom Oceanfront Villa
These chic contemporary villas provide ample space for larger travelling parties, with a master bedroom and twin bedroom over 5,705 square feet of space. These villas are positioned on the edge of the cliff, showcasing panoramic ocean views. They're equipped with two bathrooms with tubs and double vanities and have spacious living areas for travellers to relax in.
Club Room
Club Rooms offer 517 square feet of space, with lovely four-posted beds and traditional Balinese elements. A marble bathroom includes oversized tub, rain shower and L'Occitane amenities and there's a private terrace with round day bed for relaxing. Club Rooms have access to the ClubLounge, which includes complimentary food and beverages, unlimited use of the fitness centre, unlimited play on the golf course and tennis pavilion, freelaundry items, private check-in and check-out, free WiFi in the lounge, and the use of iPads and computers.
One-bedroom Ocean Front Cliff Villa
Guests can enjoy unsurpassed ocean views from these 5,380square foot villas, each positioned at the cliff edge. Each villa features expansive decking for outdoor entertaining, a covered sala and day bed, a private pool, sun loungers and décor highlighted by Balinese carvings and artworks. All modern conveniences are provided.
Resort View Room
These modern rooms feature traditional details for an authentic Bali feel, with batik bed spreads and artworks sourced from local villages. These rooms include a 42-inch flat-screen television, desk, aromatic oil burner and mini-bar with complimentary tea and coffee and fresh tropical fruit platter.
Ayana is a great resort for travellers who like to stay active and who enjoy the outdoors. There's an 18-hole putting green onsite, tenniscourts, a selection of pools, beaches and a fantastic spa. There's also a Kids Club, jogging track and fitness centre.
Golf, tennis and jogging
Wrapping round the fitness centre is a par 64 course of 600 meters in length, designed by Ronald Fream Design Group of California. The tennis pavilion houses three floodlit courts, or there's a 1.5 jogging track that winds through tropical gardens.
Pools and beaches
Guests can choose from a selection of different venues to enjoy a quick splash. There's the main infinity-edge freshwater pool that covers two levels, the children's pool by the Kids Club pavilion complete with waterslides, the Ocean Beach Pool above Kisik Beach, and the River Pool, a two-tiered pool in the Cliff Villa area. For beaches, there's private Kubu beach, open exclusively to Ayana guests.
Spa Complex
Spa Complex The spa complex at Ayana features an array of amenities to cater for active guests. These include: cold plunge pools, a steam and sauna room, a gym with yoga and aerobics studio, Aquatonic® Seawater therapy pool, hydrotherapy rooms, six spa villas, 24 treatment rooms, spa suites, a beauty salon and a reflexology and relaxation centre.
Spa on the Rocks
Located on rocks that jut out into the Indian Ocean, two spa villas provide a luxurious and unique environment for a wide selection of treatments. Surrounded by water, spa guests can enjoy the sound of the waves and feel the sea breeze as they receive their treatment. All the classic spa treatments are offered, such as Thai massage, reflexology and lipo massage, with the addition of local therapies and reiki. One popular offering is the Global Anti-Aging Treatment providing head-to-toe therapies, including an anti-aging facial, coral algae scrub, massage and fruit bath.
Damar Terrace
Terraced ponds full of lily pads surround this restaurant, serving an all-day menu and drinks. Guests here can enjoy local favorites such as satay and barbecue meats, plus afternoon tea and sunset cocktails. Live music in the evenings makes this a great place to unwind after dinner with cocktails.
Dava
This super hip award-winning bar and restaurant offers usFrench cuisine by Jusman So. Guests can choose from an a la carte menu or enjoy a nightly degustation menu of 4 or 6 courses. A stunning feature of the restaurant is its floating garden, with open-air indoor and outdoor tables and two air-conditioned dining rooms.
Honzen
Fresh sushi and sashimi and teppanyaki features at this Japanese restaurant. Guests can sit at the sushi bar or in a private tatami room, or enjoy an indoor ambience or outdoor views.
Kisik Bar and Grill
This seafood restaurant is located on the beach, illuminated by tiki torches and the lights of the Ocean Beach Pool. Select from the day's freshly-caught seafood prepared to order by Kisik's team of chefs.
Langit Theatre
This dinner theatre venue allows diners to enjoy some traditional Balinese performances while they enjoy authentic local cuisine under the stars. Diners can help themselves to a generous buffet selection while Balinese dancers and singers perform ancient mythological tales.
Padi
Pan-Asian meals are provided in this traditional Balineserestaurant. Indonesian, Thai and Indian chefs create authentic dishes surrounded by lotus ponds. Breakfast is served each day in these four thatch-roofed pavilions, serving a buffet encompassing Western and Asian dishes.
Rock Bar
Overlooking the Indian Ocean, this rock bar provides a glamorous location for sunset drinks and evening libations. A DJ provides the soundtrack to the night from a booth carved from the cliffs as well-dressedpatrons enjoy far-reaching coastal views.
Sami Sami
Trattoria-style Italian cuisine is offered in this chic open air restaurant. Its position on a bluff gives diners stunning views of the Indian Ocean – perfect for sunset cocktails. Hearty homestyle Italian cuisine features here, including pizza, pasta, antipasti, and decadent desserts.
The Martini Club
Guests can enjoy sophisticated evenings at the Martini Club, taking in spectacular sunset views. A menu of more than 50 classic martinis is served alongside a long list of cocktails.
Villa Dining
Guests of the villas can enjoy private in-villa dining, provided by Dava restaurant. Breakfast for two is included in the room rate.
