TRAVEL TO NEPAL IN 2022

For avid and intrepid travelers like the Remote Lands team, there has been limited opportunity for exploration in the past 24 months. But – high in the Himalayas – Nepal has been open to vaccinated travelers without quarantine since October 2021. With its peerless vistas, compelling culture, UNESCO architecture, fresh air and trekking, there are few destinations as good for the body and soul.

Nepal is a topographically diverse nation with subtropical national parks and desert scenery complementing its breathtaking totemic peaks. Combining these disparate habitats makes for a varied and exciting single-destination trip. We have been many sending clients here recently, and we’re happy to say that all Covid-related regulations have been very smooth and easy. You can read the latest traveler review further down.

    WHERE THE TIGERS ROAM

Many people are surprised to learn that Nepal is one Asia’s premier wildlife safari destinations. The subtropical lowlands of the Terai, near the Indian border, are a vast and pristine biosphere, home to both the acclaimed Chitwan, and the remote Bardia national parks. Bengal tigers and Indian leopards are among the species living here, although the one-horned rhinoceros is perhaps the biggest draw. Our favorite hotels in this region are Meghauli Serau, a Taj Safari Lodge and Kasari Jungle Lodge.

WILDLIFE IN NEPAL WHERE THE WORLD ENDS
(BUT THE SKIES START)

Eight of the world’s ten highest peaks converge along Nepal’s Himalayan axis, forming the finest trekking area on Earth. Remote Lands provides a wide range of trekking routes, lengths and intensities, working with our team on-the-ground to tailor the experience to your specific requirements.

While Everest Base Camp may remain the ultimate bucket list topper for many (staying at the newly renovated Mountain Lodges of Nepal), we also encourage you to consider the sublime Annapurna Circuit, arguably the most beautiful place in Nepal. Combine this with the former Himalayan Kingdom of Mustang, staying at Moksha Mustang in Jomsom. Adventure-seekers should combine trekking with paragliding in Pokhara, staying at Tiger Mountain Lodge or Pavillions, or skydiving next to Everest itself.

TREKKING IN NEPAL HOW TO EXPLORE NEPAL
REMOTE LANDS-STYLE

From your base in Kathmandu – staying at the heritage Dwarika’s Hotel – embark on a stellar journey by helicopter high into the Himalayas, visiting eight of Nepal’s exalted peaks, including Everest. Exploring Nepal by chopper not only provides a hitherto unseen eagle’s perspective, but allows you to pack so much more into your trip, even Chitwan National Park in the south.
