Chitwan National Park

Located in a landscape dense with rivers, trees, and animals, Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Unlike much of Nepal, Chitwan is located in the tropical lowlands known as the Terai, home to endangered populations of the Asian one-horned rhinoceros, the Bengal Tiger, and more than 400 species of birds - a must for any and all nature lovers.

Experiences

Elephant Breeding Center

Near Sauraha, on the opposite side of the Bhude Rapti River, is the Elephant Breeding Center. Here, visitors can enjoy the sight of mother elephants bonding with their adorable babies, drinking from nearby streams and lakes, or simply going about their everyday lives.

Elephant-Top Safari

Ride atop an elephant through the high grassland and riverbeds to see a wide range of wildlife, including the star of the event: the amazing one-horned rhino. The park encompasses not only dense forests, but also flood plains and grasslands, where the grasses can sometimes reach 20 feet in height, dwarfing even your mount for the morning!

Tharu Cultural Museum and Research Center

Located in Bachhauli, the Tharu Cultural Museum and Research Center features various exhibitions of artifacts and local customs of the Tharu people. For centuries, the Tharu have lived in harmony with their environment, living near sources of water and developing an extensive knowledge of medicinal herbs.

Walking Wildlife Safari

Hike along the banks of a pristine river to see some of the over 700 species of birds and other wildlife.
