After spending a decade in the music business as a campus radio DJ, cable TV host, music writer and musician with seminal Canadian bands like cow-punk pioneers Jerry Jerry and the Sons of Rhythm Orchestra and pop-punksters The Asexuals, Jim began publishing journalism and books like the non-fiction collection, "Bizarre Thailand," an acclaimed short-fiction collection entitled "The Phantom Lover and Other Thrilling Tales of Thailand," and various travel guides. He also notched up co-writing and editing credits on the history book "Americans in Thailand" and "Thailand's Sustainable Development Sourcebook." In 2017, he published the medley of punk and rock history, literature and his personal experiences in the music business called, "On the Night Joey Ramone Died: Tales of rock 'n' punk from Bangkok, New York, Cambodia and Norway." The expanded paperback version released in 2018 includes a 130-page nonfiction section of "Rock Writings and Musical Memoirs."
