Armenia in October

Experiencing a changing of the foliage colors in autumn, this season in Armenia lasts from September to the end of November. Although October and November see an increase of precipitation throughout the country, rising to around 30 and 25 millimeters respectively, the result is only around 8 rainy days a month. Though dropping quite drastically at the onset of winter, temperatures throughout the lowlands remain pleasant at around 20C throughout most of autumn. Autumn marks the harvest season in Armenia, including the wine festival season.

Republic Day is a national holiday in Armenia marking the anniversary of the short-lived First Armenian Republic in 1918, celebrated with fireworks, concerts, and parades. The Republic was declared in 1918, shortly after the Armenian genocide, and only a short while later, Armenia would become part of the Soviet empire and would not celebrate Republic Day again until 1988.
