Rainy season officially begins in November and it will see a tremendous amount of rain until March. Days are hot and humid, punctuated by intense periods of tropical rainfall. Due to wetter conditions, mountain climbing and longer treks are not recommended during select months. Sea conditions also worsen, with south coast beaches getting windier and water visibility is greatly reduced. Further, the increased humidity combined with high temperatures, which average around 27°C (80 °F), attribute to lower visitor volume.

Bau Nyale, an ancient festival started by the Tunjung Beru Kingdom’s Princess Mandalika, celebrates the yearly appearance of nyale sea worms at Seger Beach in Kuta Village over five days. Glowing bright, the worms depart their coral reefs and head to the surface. Several events following the worms' appearance provide plenty of entertainment.
