See ItineraryTurkmenistan in Central Asia has a desert climate, freezing in the winter and one of the hottest places on earth in the summer. November to March is cold in Turkmenistan, with a small amount of rain. Temperatures in the capital Ashgabat range from zero to 15 ºC (32-59 ºF) over the winter, with rain of about 10 mm per month. It’s a pleasant time to visit the country and visit anything from the ancient ruins and Silk Road cities to the outré white marble of the capital largely built in Soviet style. The desert at night can be particularly chilly, so warm clothes are definitely needed in the depths of winter.
