The Peninsula Shanghai

Why We Love This Hotel :

Architecture: Located centrally on Shanghai's world-famous Bund, the newly-built Peninsula Shanghai was designed to evoke the opulence, grandeur, and Baroque aesthetics of the colonial buildings of the late nineteenth- early twentieth century.

Location: Like all other Peninsula properties, the Peninsula Shanghai boasts top-notch service and a stellar, central location.

Views: The Peninsula Shanghai also features sweeping vistas of the Bund, Pearl Oriental Tower, and the busy, historic Huangpu River.

A multiple award-winning spa is only one of The Peninsula Shanghai’s many features for guests to enjoy during their stay. A state-of-the-art fitness center featuring highly technological equipment, as well as a palatial Art Deco pool, as well as healthy eating options on every menu, demonstrate that guests’ well-being is of foremost importance.

Event Venues

For events and special occasions, the Peninsula has a range of venues and bespoke packages.

Health & Fitness

The gym at the Peninsula is well-equipped with a range of Life Fitness equipment, weights, and personal TV monitors.  Additionally, the gym features a nutrition service and a healthy eating menu.

Like other Peninsula properties, the award-winning spa at the Peninsula Shanghai is run by the international luxury brand ESPA. The Spa at the Peninsula offers a range of treatments, from quick, foot reflexology sessions to comprehensive, full-day sessions.

The Peninsula Shanghai provides guests with a kaleidoscope of fine dining experiences, each restaurant evoking strong aspects of Shanghai’s diverse culture and cultural influencers. From the traditional Cantonese delights of Yi Long Court, to the colonial elegance of the Lobby Lounge, to the modern European cuisine served to guests enjoying stunning views of futuristic Pudong at Sir Elly’s Restaurant, the Peninsula Shanghai is a cultural dining experience in itself.

Salon de Ning

Dressed in dark, wood panels and adorned with sumptuous upholstery, fine art, and classic furniture, the Salon de Ning recalls the elegance, glamour and decadence of Shanghai's heyday. The bar serves its own signature rose wine, and delicious hand mixed cocktails.

Sir Elly's Restaurant

Sir Elly’s Restaurant serves modern European cuisine alongside a menu of fine wines, spirits and cocktails. Diners can look out onto the bright lights of Shanghai, including the glittering, futuristic shores of Pudong and the busy waters of the Huangpu River as they enjoy their food and drinks.

The Compass Bar

The Compass Bar exudes French navy elegance with hints of the Orient. The bar is painted in a deep purple color and decorated with shipping paraphernalia in memory of Shanghai’s maritime heritage. The bar serves a selection of high quality drinks and bar snacks.

The Lobby

Modeled after a wealthy merchant’s house in the 1920s, the Lobby is an airy, bright space, with classy furniture, large glass windows, and a welcoming, cheerful feel. The Lobby serves afternoon tea by day and drinks and snacks accompanied with live music by night.

Yi Long Court

Yi Long Court serves traditional Cantonese and regional cuisine, as well as a host of dim sum and other Chinese delights, such as Peking duck, pan-fried scallops, and honey-glazed pork.
