Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape

There are only 16 exclusive villas at Buahan, each a slice of paradise, with its own pool and panoramic views of the mesmerizing nature. From villas, to restaurant, to spa, the entire resort is open, breezy, and draws from Balinese traditions and hyper-local products. Herbs and vegetables harvested from surrounding villages and the resort’s own farm are fully utilized everywhere, from the set menu at the restaurant, to infusions at the bar, house-made scrubs at the spa, and even as potpourri within the guest rooms. The Buahan invites guests to a new way of living and experiencing hospitality and nature.

Spacious Luxury Villas: With only 16 total villas, each one has been given its own private space of 165 sqm that encompasses the bedroom, deck, and personal pool. With the show that is Mother Nature surrounding the villa unobstructed, there is nary a reason to leave.

There are only 16 total villas sprinkled across the property, each nestled within lush layers of jungle that cover the Buahan valley. Per its concept, and as Balinese bale traditions dictate, there are no walls and no doors. The villas are built with reclaimed ironwood and feature breezy living spaces and decks that measure 165 sqm, copper bathtubs, wooden furnishings, and private plunge pools. Gauzy curtains separate plush bedding and the nature that unfurls before it.

Leisure facilities include a spa with open-air treatment rooms across the resort, a main pool, and a Pavilion to enjoy communal experiences.

For breathtaking views and relaxation, guests can take a dip in the main swimming pool and lounge on the surrounding daybeds with poolside service from the Open Kitchen.

The Pavilion

On select evenings, the Pavilion is transformed into a comfortable area to come together and enjoy movies or traditional puppet shows.

Toja Spa

The open-air Toja Spa takes full advantage of the surrounding nature to channel into its wellness programs, from the fresh air and soothing jungle sounds to locally foraged or homegrown herbs and plants made into homemade scrubs. All treatments honor local culture and wellbeing techniques. Yoga and meditation sessions are available at select outdoor locations.

There is one signature restaurant and bar, both located within the main Pavilion which opens to sweeping views of the valley.

The bar takes advantage of the herbs and botanicals from the valley and resort garden. Creations include infused drinks and house-made kombucha, as well as local ciders, beers, and wine on offer.

The Open Kitchen

The Open Kitchen

This aptly-named dining venue serves a predominantly Balinese and plant-based menu with hyper-local produce and heirloom cooking techniques from surrounding villages and farms. For breakfast, a simple buffet of grains and fruit accompany a succinct menu of healthy selections, while at dinner, a set menu of dressed up dishes is provided.
