Bears, Bears, Bears: Drenmo Lodge is located in the middle of India’s Himalayan Brown Bear country and is the premier place to use as a base for those seeking these animals.
Scenery: The lodge is located in a breathtaking trans-Himalaya environment where majestic peaks, plateaus and barren hills meet with Kashmir’s green forested hills and valleys. This area is home to a variety of birds and mammals including the Golden Eagle, Asiatic Ibex and Grey Wolf.
Giving Back: A portion of the lodge’s proceeds go towards brown bear conservation efforts, as well as community engagement to mitigate human-brown bear conflicts. The lodge also hires staff from within the local community to support the local villagers.

A standard room with views facing the valley. The room comes with an ensuite private bathroom. There are four total units.
Larger than the Valley View room, this room type can accommodate up to three adults with an additional bed. Large windows open up to the mountains. The room comes with an ensuite private bathroom. There are two total units.
Wildlife excursions are included while staying at Drenmo Lodge. The in-house host and naturalist will accompany guests on excursions, along with local spotters. Additional wildlife excursions and experiences such as camping, village walks, and fishing are also available at additional cost.
The main dining room can accommodate all guests staying at the lodge. A dedicated kitchen team prepares all meals. A homestyle set menu of Indian/Continental/Ladakhi cuisines is served. There is also an outdoor deck overlooking the valley where meals can be taken.
