Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park is the largest protected natural area in Terai, tucked into the southwest corner of Nepal. This sub-tropical area features vast forested and grassland areas that have been protected from both human settlements and resource extraction since the park formed in 1988. It is home to a great number of species, including rhinoceros, elephants, and tigers, and has, long since it opened, enticed those adventure seekers and nature lovers looking for a safari away from traditional tourist destinations. The park sits on the eastern bank of the Karnali River, near the Indian border. Visitors can arrive by the Nepalgunj-Surkhet highway, which forms part of the southern boundary of the park, and ease gracefully into their enchanting jungle adventure.
