Capella Kyoto

Designed by the architect firm Kengo Kuma and Associates, Capella Hotels and Resorts will debut in Japan’s historical city in 2025. The Capella Kyoto will be 4-story hotel located in the Miyagawa-chō district, an important geisha and maiko (apprentice geisha) neighborhood, adjacent to the Kennin-ji Temple and nearby Nishiki Market and the Yasaka Shrine. The hotel will offer 92 rooms, each guest room furnished with soothing hues, intricate textures and in a contemporary manner that provides a calming atmosphere. A Japanese garden courtyard will lie in the hotel’s center with a ballroom lying beneath it with an internal multi-story rock garden serving as a pre-function space. Guests will be able to enjoy the Auriga Spa is located on the same floor, where guests can indulge in Japan’s bathing culture and relax in private ofuro rooms. Dining options will include the main restaurant, set around the garden alongside the Capella Living Room, and a Japanese restaurant, as well as a patisserie and a lobby bar.
