Peninsula Hong Kong Expands Its Luxury Fleet with Bentley Bentaygas

New SUVs bolster an iconic collection that already encompasses Rolls-Royces and custom Toyota Alphard hybrid-electric vans.

The Peninsula Hong Kong has bolstered its renowned fleet of luxury vehicles with the addition of four bespoke Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) Azure SUVs.

Known for blending sophistication with world-class hospitality, the hotel continues to elevate its guest transport experience, adding these state-of-the-art vehicles to a collection that already includes 14 Rolls-Royce Extended Wheelbase Phantoms and a magnificently restored 1934 Phantom II.

The Peninsula Hong Kong’s automotive fleet has become as iconic as the hotel. And the newest additions were celebrated during a handover ceremony at the hotel’s forecourt in November. The event brought together Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd. (HSH), and Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser, CEO of Bentley Motors, who formally presented the keys.

The vehicles, meticulously handcrafted by artisans at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England, represent the pinnacle of engineering and design. “It’s a privilege to see these stunning vehicles take their place at The Peninsula,” said Dr. Walliser. “They reflect Bentley’s dedication to craftsmanship and The Peninsula’s commitment to luxury.”

The new Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure SUVs epitomize modern elegance and comfort. Designed with the discerning traveler in mind, the vehicles boast custom features that enhance the guest experience.

Finished in The Peninsula’s signature green, they include self-closing extended rear doors, plush quilted seatbacks, and veneered picnic tables. Rear passengers enjoy individual entertainment screens, Bentley’s signature mood lighting, and a state-of-the-art audio system. Further indulgences include a rear-seat massage function, dual wireless chargers, and spacious leather-lined luggage compartments, ensuring both style and practicality for guests.

The Bentaygas join The Peninsula’s other new transport additions, including custom Toyota Alphard hybrid-electric vans. The Alphards provide an eco-friendly yet luxurious option for families and group travelers, seating up to six passengers.

Each van is fitted with thoughtful amenities, such as handheld remote controls for climate and lighting, massage functions for middle rear seats, and JBL audio systems. This blend of sustainability and innovation reflects The Peninsula’s forward-thinking approach to hospitality.

The Peninsula Hong Kong has a rich history of offering luxury transportation, a tradition that began almost a century ago when the hotel operated a fleet of taxis.

Over time, this evolved into a defining feature of the brand, with its first major automotive milestone occurring in the 1970s. The hotel made headlines worldwide with its purchase of seven Rolls-Royce Silver Shadows, marking the largest single order for the model at the time. This set the tone for decades of unparalleled automotive opulence.

In 2006, The Peninsula cemented its status as a transportation pioneer by acquiring 14 Rolls-Royce Extended Wheelbase Phantoms, a fleet that continues to serve guests today. Each car was customized to Peninsula specifications, featuring interiors finished in rich leather, burled walnut, and bespoke details like engraved tread plates and cooling compartments for chilled hand towels.

The introduction of the Bentley Bentaygas and hybrid-electric Alphards marks another chapter in this legacy, ensuring that The Peninsula remains at the forefront of luxury transport. From vintage classics like the 1934 Phantom II to modern masterpieces like the Bentayga, the hotel offers guests an experience of elegance and sophistication.

Transportation at The Peninsula Hong Kong is not merely functional—it is an extension of the hotel’s legendary service. Whether arriving at the hotel in a chauffeur-driven Bentley, enjoying a group outing in a hybrid Alphard, or savoring a moment of nostalgia in the 1934 Phantom II, guests are immersed in a blend of luxury and heritage.

“These new additions are a testament to our commitment to excellence,” said Joseph W.Y. Chong, Regional Executive Vice President, of Asia, and Managing Director of The Peninsula Hong Kong. “They allow us to redefine the travel experience for our guests, ensuring that every aspect of their stay is exceptional.”
