Tajikistan in August

June to August is summer in Tajikistan, and it is hot and dry, with temperatures in the capital between 20 and 35°C (68-95°F). The heat is such that it is undoubtedly the best time to head into the cooler mountains. The Pamir Highway is a particular standout journey at this time, one of the world’s most scenic roads, its remote and desolate beauty awe-inspiring. The very highest elevations and eastern Pamirs are still cold at this time, despite the summer, with temperatures rarely rising above 5°C (41°F). Hardcore climbers should pack accordingly.
