March to May is hot and dry in the UAE. In April the average highs climb upward to 35 ºC (95 ºF), yet the nights can get cool. There is often considerable wind coming in off the water and these abundant blowy breeze are highly greatly welcomed in the intense heat, as one would imagine. The middle off the day is to be avoided and many take dusk or dawn as an opportunity to visit the souks in the Old Quarter of Dubai, which offers the chance see the bold the contrast of ancient culture set against modern skyline.

April's Al Marmoum Heritage Festival is a chance to see a real show of Emirati culture - camel racing. One of the oldest sports in the region, this is an unforgettable experience. Expect cheering fans, huge TVs documenting the action, scorching desert heat, and mini robot jockeys (a modern adaptation to this long tradition).
