Mongolia's Rivers

Mongolia's unique system of waterways provides one of the world's best environments for fly-fishing, among other exhilarating outdoor activities. Around 200 miles of blue water snakes its way through the Mongolian countryside, serving up some of the best trout fishing on the planet, while also being home to taimen, the world's largest member of the salmon family. Fishing can be experienced aboard drift boats or from tented camps, flanked by majestic cliff faces and natural scenery untouched and unchanged since the days of Genghis Khan. Visitors can also expect encounters with the local nomads tending their herds of sheep, goats, yaks, horses, and camels. The journey into the difficult-to-reach river regions combine flights and scenic overland drives, making for a comfortable, seamless Mongolian river experience.

Your abode will be a traditional Mongolian ger tent, about 20-feet in diameter and nine-feet in height. Amenities are provided for maximum comfort in this rustic, natural setting.

Float Trips

The best way to discover Mongolia’s meandering river system is by boat. Accompanied by your professional guide, you’ll float on the serene rivers for days between camps, taking in the incredible natural beauty that surrounds.

Fly Fishing

Go fishing on one of Mongolia’s world-class rivers, among the favored destinations for anglers from around the world. Fishing licences are restricted due to conservation efforts in the area to protect endangered Taimen, the largest and most elusive fish around. Still, there are plenty of other fish in the sea, quite literally, with fishing opportunities for lenok trout, endemic amur trout, amur pike, and grayling.
