Cheval Blanc Randheli

Why We Love This Hotel :

Location: Noonu Atoll is a 40-minute seaplane ride from Malé airport, ringed by coral reefs and home to native plants and wildlife.

Service: The Randheli prides itself on delivering French "Art de Recevoir" – the "art of hospitality."

History: The Randheli has an impressive pedigree – it's a Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy resort designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy.

The Randheli makes the most of its idyllic surrounds, devoting an entire island to a spa and providing fun outdoor activities for younger travelers. Of course, there's diving – with certificates offered here for free – and snorkeling around the house reef and beyond, plus state-of-the-art fitness facilities, tennis courts and even a virtual driving range.

The Randheli offers free PADI dive certification courses to all guests, with complimentary use of all dive materials, including Nitrox, to already certified divers. Guests can book a private boat and instructor and/or have their dives professionally filmed or photographed. For guests who would rather snorkel, the house reef allows for an animated swimming experience, amongst a wide variety of tropical fish, turtles, rays and more.

The Randheli team offer a wide range of special experiences for guests, encompassing adventure, fitness, romance, arts and culture and food. Guests can dive with manta rays, join a moonlight yoga session, enjoy cinema under the stars, book a private villa BBQ or even renew their wedding vows.

The Randheli's on-site fitness center features the latest in workout technology, with machines and free weights and trainers on demand, not to mention ocean views. The gym includes a virtual driving range with clubs for men, women and children.

Le Carrousel and Le Paddock

To ensure children and teens are entertained, the Randheli offers a kid's club for three to 12-year-olds, as well as a teenager's club. Fun activities, craft, games, movies and a kiddy pool are just some of the things on offer. An experienced team of Ambassadeurs run a varied daily schedule to suit kids of all ages.

A full range of beauty and wellness therapies are offered at the Randheli's spa, located on a separate island within Noonu Atoll. The spa, run by French beauty brand Guerlain, comprises six treatment villas, plus two VIP Orchidée Villas. Yoga sessions and a hammam bath are offered here, as well as hair, makeup and nail services.

Tucked into verdant tropical foliage on Maakurandhoo Island are the property's two tennis courts. All equipment is supplied on-site.

Water activities

The full range of facilities is here when it comes to water activities, be it sailing out on a dhoni or catamaran, fishing, dolphin-spotting, canoeing or windsurfing. Guests can learn how to sail a Top Cat catamaran, go riding on a banana boat, go big game fishing or take one of a vast selection of excursions, discovering nearby islands or going on a sandbank adventure.

There's no shortage of upscale dining offered at the Randheli. Its F&B outlets include Le 1947 – a French fine dining restaurant by three-star Michelin chef Yannick Alléno, plus a range of indoor and outdoor venues with Japanese cuisine, fresh-caught seafood and more. Guests can also dine in their villas.

The White

The White contemporary brasserie offers all-day dining, located in an open-air pavilion with views of the reef. Guests can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at The White, complete with fresh-baked pastries, coffee and fruit alongside eggs, charcuterie and Asian dishes. This casual dining venue offers indoor and outdoor garden seating.

Carte Blanche

For private dining, the Carte Blanche option caters for everything from a beach picnic to dinner aboard a dhoni fishing boat. Guests can choose from an in-room menu or have a chef and live cooking station prepare meals for them privately.

La Table de Partage

For private events or family dinners, La Table de Partage offers a chef's table experience with sharing dishes that infuse gourmet cuisine with local flavors. Magnum-sized bottles of wine and champagne complement the menu.

Le 1947

This haute cuisine restaurant features a set menu of French fare with a local twist, accompanied by fine wines. The signature restaurant of Le Cheval Blanc, 1947 offers a culinary journey in a sophisticated setting.

Le 1947 Bar

At the entrance to Le 1947's vermillion walkway, this bar offers guests an opportunity to congregate for an aperitif or relax after dinner. It serves a selection of fine old and new world wines, champagnes, spirits and cigars, and remains open late.

The Deelani

Guests can dine in the middle of the lagoon, on the jetty where the Deelani is positioned. Seafood and Italian cuisine are offered here, with fish curries and Mediterranean dishes crafted from regional produce. Come evening time, the jetty transforms into a cocktail bar.

The Diptyque

Japanese and Iberian cuisine come together here, with traditional kaiseki-style Japanese menus on one side and tapas on the other. From fresh sashimi to manchego cheese, guests are assured a flavorful meal every evening from the show kitchen.

The White Bar

Looking out on to the property's main pool, the White bar offers cocktails and light meals all day. There's indoor and outdoor seating with pool and lagoon views, fantastic at sunset when the daylight fades and the bar illuminates.
