Capella Singapore, the flagship property of the acclaimed hotel chain on Sentosa Island in the Lion City, has unveiled refreshed interiors for its ultra-luxe accommodation categories Capella Manor and Colonial Manors.
Their looks have been reimagined by renowned design houses Simone Haag and Matthew Shang Design Office (MSDO). These re-styled manors combine modern luxury with historical resonance, tailored for discerning travellers.
Capella Manor, now featuring interiors by Australian designer Simone Haag, embodies a blend of contemporary aesthetics with Asian-inspired details.
The 576-square-meter residence includes three ensuite bedrooms, spacious living and dining areas, a private terrace, and a lap pool.
Haag’s approach brings a layered, personalized feel, incorporating vintage pieces, custom furniture, and commissioned artwork. Key elements include a Pelle Lure Lantern casting leafy shadows in the living room, a custom earth-toned rug evoking topography, and unique furnishings like 1930s Swedish Carved Monk Chairs.
Haag comments, “This project draws from a global network of artists and makers, creating a truly unique space that is both contextual and user-focused.”
The Colonial Manors, updated by Matthew Shang Design Office, honor their origins as British military quarters from the 1880s. Each manor spans 500 square meters, with three ensuite bedrooms, separate living, dining, and study spaces, and a private pool.
MSDO’s design combines maps of historic Singapore with a mix of timeless furnishings, capturing the spirit of a globetrotter’s home.
Highlights include the vibrant social space “The Nest” on the upper floor, decorated with a Persian rug and curated art, as well as a serene outdoor dining area with seating for six, shaded by lush greenery.
Capella Singapore enhances the manor experience with dedicated service from a Manor Culturist, offering personalized touches like poolside picnics, yoga sessions, and art therapy workshops.
Guests can explore Singapore’s history and culture through curated activities, from heritage tours to local food tastings, guided by their host. The manor fridge is stocked with premium wines, refreshments, and in-manor breakfast options, catering to families seeking a comfortable and immersive stay.
“This redesign reflects Capella’s commitment to creating spaces that blend heritage with a welcoming environment,” said Capella Singapore general manager Yngvar Stray. “We aim to offer experiences that guests can take with them beyond their stay, providing a tranquil retreat that feels like home.”
