Remote Lands is inviting intrepid explorers to experience the Himalayas like never before courtesy of its new Nepal program: Hiking & Helicopters in Nepal: The Secret Path to Everest.
This exclusive 16-day, 15-night journey, launching in May 2025 starts in the capital Kathmandu, where guests will stay at the luxurious Dwarika’s Hotel.
From there, the adventure continues deep into the heart of the Himalayas, offering an immersive lodge-to-lodge trekking experience. Guests will stay at the finest lodges managed by Mountain Lodges of Nepal, ensuring maximum comfort amidst Nepal’s breathtaking landscapes.
Nepal is blessed with numerous spectacular regions. But none come more fabled than the Everest region. Home to the world’s highest peak, the area is famed for its incredible hiking and trekking. And the new Remote Lands program showcases the area in its most appealing light.
The trek will explore iconic and hidden routes to Everest Base Camp (EBC), including stops in Phakding, Monjo, Namche, Deboche, and Kongde, before culminating in a private tented camp at Everest Base Camp. Unlike traditional treks, this experience offers shorter hiking days, allowing guests to soak in the stunning scenery and rich cultural heritage of the Himalayas at their own pace.
There are many things that set this adventure apart. Of huge appeal is the strategic use of helicopters to navigate the route, offering three scenic transfers that bypass the crowded “Everest highways.” This unique approach allows for a more serene exploration of remote temples, monasteries, and breathtaking vistas, enhancing the trekking experience. Additionally, each guest has a private porter, allowing adventurers to hike at their own pace while seeing and experiencing more.
Even at remote high-altitude locations, lodges offer comfortable and cozy accommodations, warm hospitality, and gourmet dining to fuel each day’s adventure. A highlight of the journey is the private tented camp at EBC, where guests will enjoy an exclusive “Everest Day” in near solitude, as the trekking season winds down.
The expedition will be led by renowned summiteer Jamling Tenzing Norgay, son of Tenzing Norgay, who, alongside Sir Edmund Hillary, first reached the summit of Mount Everest in 1953. With his extensive knowledge and personal stories of the Everest region, Jamling will provide insights into the mountains and their history. Throughout the trek, guests can meet other notable mountaineers and local experts.
Whether traveling solo, with friends or as a couple, this trek caters to individual paces and preferences. Special moments include champagne picnics in stunning locations, shared with fellow trekkers and notable guests.
