See ItineraryThough there is minimal change in temperature in Indonesia, there is when it comes rainfall, and November to March brings the country’s monsoonal season. Rain averages 200 mm per day in the capital Jakarta in Jan through Feb, with temperatures hovering between 25 and 30 °C (77-86 °F). Many skip between the cooling showers to visit the magnificent Borobudur Temple, a Unesco World Heritage on the island of Java -- the ninth century building is, perhaps, only rivalled by Angkor Wat as the world’s finest ancient Buddhist site. Built like a wedding cake stacked over nine platforms, six square and three circular, and topped by a central dome, it is home to over 500 Buddhist statues and attracts pilgrims from the world over.
