UAE in January

December to February is warm with occasional rain in the United Arab Emirates, with temperatures between 15 and 25 ºC (59-77ºF) and precipitation a trifling 10 mm per month (if it rains at all). This ‘winter’ season is a fine time to visit as later in the year it can become and unbearably hot for many. Temperatures are several degrees cooler in the Al Hajar Mountains in the east due to the increased elevation. Many chose to visit these mountains for their wide array of flora including shrub land and woodland replete with wild olive and fig trees, junipers, and fruit trees brimming with pomegranates and apricots. There is rare fauna too, including Egyptian and lappet-faced vultures, mountain gazelles, geckos and many other lizards.
